In some localities are evidences ofdistinct volcanic disturbances, but in gen-eral the Ozark Uplift or Plateau is a greattable land cut into smaller comparativelylevel areas, into hills in places and magnifi-cent fertile valleys in others. Its altitudeinsures its healthfulness and its naturalwater supply is the finest on the Americancontinent.
