The company owned the first steam sugar refinery to the Lijnbaansgracht in Amsterdam. On January 8, 1834 they were caught using a balance sheet of which an arm was extended. Centrally the fake balance hanging on the steam clouds that come from the factory 'the five brothers' and on which crates with sugar are weighed. Right C. De Bruyn with his two sons.
