Shambo a Friesian bull lived in the Hindu Skanda Vales Temple before being slaughtered after testing positive for Bovine TB

Shambo a black Friesian bull lived in the Hindu Skanda Vales Temple, South Wales, before being slaughtered on the 26th July 2007 after testing positive for Bovine TB. According to Skanda Vale, the sanctity of all life is the corner stone of Hinduism. Bulls and cows are sacred in Hindu culture. The cow symbolizes motherhood through the offering of milk, and the bull represents the father who tills the soil and provides grain. The monks and other protesters from as far as New Zealand tried to stop the slaughter of Shambo.
