GPM rainfall satellite. Illustration of the core observatory satellite of the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) joint NASA-JAXA mission in Earth orbit (launched 2014). Its instruments are the Dual-Frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR) and the GPM Microwave Imager (GMI). Five other satellites, part of the GPM weather satellite constellation, are in the background.
