Palermo, Sicily, Italy - 25 September 2019; no people in shot. Built from 1131, the UNESCO - listed Cefal Cathedral is one of the greatest surviving examples of Norman architecture. Originally designed to surpass Monreale Cathedral (Palermo) in magnificence, this plan fell through when the money ran Still, its golden mosaics fill the church with an exalted and beautiful glow. Here we see the its sublime mosaics and architecture, with the striking figure of Christ dominating the Church. Note, as in all Sicilian places of Christian worship, there is no charge or ticketing for entrance to this church
