Apollo 17 crew with an engineering model of the Lunar Roving Vehicle used during the mission. The crew members are; Eugene Cernan (commander, seated), Ronald Evans (Command Module pilot, standing right) and Harrison Schmitt (Lunar Module pilot, standing left). In the background is their Saturn V launcher rocket. Apollo 17 was the sixth and last lunar landing Apollo mission. It launched on 7th December 1972 and the lunar module landed on the moon on 11th December. The crew returned to Earth on 19th December.
