1942 40s GMC 'Jimmy' World War II "Deuce-and-a-half" vintage American army truck, wartime two-and-a-half ton vehicle in WWII, Second World War lorry.

American The GMC 21/2-ton "Duce and a half" truck was the most common truck in the US Army. It was used throughout the war on all fronts in transport and supply. The standard 2 1/2 ton truck has been in Army service before World War II. Though it has undergone many improvements, it remains a good basic vehicle for carrying supplies and personnel. Trucks were useful for moving almost anything. In World War II, the US trucks were smaller than their German counterparts, but superior mechanical reliability and the capability of running off-road gave the American vehicles a definite edge. The M35 series 2 1/2-ton truck has developed a worldwide reputation as being one of the reliable military trucks produced. For military purposes, this truck is safe for tons loading capacity for off-road and rough terrain. With modification the loading capacity can reach up to 10 tons. Length overall with winch is 263 inches.
