PATTERN BURRING MACHINE for figured woolen design, a is a revolving metal brush, under which the stencil plate, h, passes as an endless sheet,guided by the small rollers /, /, g, cloth passes underneath theplate, and has the same speed as thisplate; it is carried forward by the guide-roller, c, which at the same time pressesit against the plate. The driving pulleyis on the main shaft, from whence themotion is passed on through a diagonalshaft and bevel wheels to the roller, c,on one side, and by a belt to the brushon the other side. The brush and theguide roller, c, run in opposite direc-tions. The brush is covered in its up-per half by a cast-iron cover, which protects it against injury, and atthe same time keeps it in the bearings. These bearings are made to slideup and down, and are pressed upward by a set-screw, /, acting upon onearm of a lever whose other arm has a pin pressing on the under side ofthe bearing.
