Outer lateral and crown views of the type upper right fourth premolar of Equus broomi sp. nov.; formerly referred to Equus harrisi Broom. Natural size. (Original.) there is a certain amount of minor folding in the posterior wall of the prefossette. The specimen on which van Hoepen created the new genus Sterro- hippus and species robustus might belong to this species, but van Hoepen's specimen is a second premolar which cannot be regarded as forming adequate material for specific identification.
