Hisdeath occurred on 26th September, 1007, and with him there passed away one of theremaining links between the old order andthe new—between the Woodside which wasonce a burgh by itself, and the Woodsidewhich is now incorporated in the City ofAberdeen. He had seen all the develop-ments of the district —municipal and other-wise -and personally had come to be re-garded as one of the landmarks of theplace. Rev. Andrew Dickson, on whom fell thechoice of the congregation as successor to. Rev. Andrew Dickson. Mr. Moir, is a native of Berwickshire, anda student of Edinburgh University. Atthe close of his divinity course at the NewCollege, he acted for a short time asassistant to Rev. (afterwards Dr.) JohnKelman in St- Johns, Leith, and whileserving in that capacity he was called toGlencaple, Dumfries, where his ordinationtook place in December, 1892. Two yearssuccessful work in that rural chargefollowed, until he was translated to Wood-side and inducted to the pastorate therein January, 1895. On Mr. Dickson, whileMr. Moir survived, the entire responsi-bility and work of the church fell, andhe met all demands with a readyresourcefulness.
