Regina Flannery Herzfeld (1904-2004), US anthropologist. Herzfeld was one of the first female anthropologists in the USA. She was a professor in the Department of Anthropology at the Catholic University of America, from 1935 to 1971. She married physicist Karl Ferdinand Herzfeld (1892-1978) in 1938. This photograph was taken in the spring of 1935 at a National Academy of Sciences meeting.
