The typical C. alaskensis described above passes by insensible grada- tions into a form occurring off the coast of California and Oregon, which differs from it as follows: The rostrum is longer and narrower. The outer flagellum of the antennules falls considerably short of the antennal scale. The scale is much longer than in the typical form, being equal to the length of the carapace exclusive of the rostrum. The fourth segment of the abdomen shows signs of carination.
