MANNING, THE TETOFSKY APPLE. We describe two well tested varieties originating ina cold country, and retaining qualities adapted to ourextreme cold up to a very high latitude. Both ripenearly in August and extend into Sept. Both of excellenteating and dessert qualities, fruiting very young. Admitof close planting in the orchard. We would advise set-ting of the Tetofsky 10 feet each way, or 400 per acre. The Duchesse of Oldenburg might properly require a25 feet space between the rows, especially in rich soil. These trees are both as hardy as an oak. Ked Astra-chan is also from Russia. Duchesse of Oldenburg. A large, beautiful Rus-sian apple; roundish, streaked red and yellow; ten-der, juicy and pleasant. A kitchen apple of best quali-ty, and esteemed by many for dessert. Tree a vig-orous fine grower, and a young and abundant Succeeds well in the Northwest and N. , 5 feet, 35c; 6 to 7 feet, 50c.
