GROTON. Gkoton was incorporated as a town in 1705, having unlil that periodbelonged to New London. It is bounded north by Ledyard, west bythe river Tliames, separating it from ^aw London, ]\Iontvilie, andWalerford, east by North Stonington and the Mystic, which separatesit from Stonington, and south by Fishers Island sound.
