Great Blue Heron standing in tall grasses

This shot was taken with a Nikon D7100 camera hand held at F , Sp 1000, ISO 800 at 300 mm. This Great Blue Heron as standing along a water filled ditch when we approached it. It stood there for several shots then took a few steps and flew off. It was taken in November at the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Many species of birds spend their winters here.
