The interior court, which is one of the attractive features of theLibrary, may be reached from either of the entrance hall corri-dors. In the centre of a w^ell-kept grass plot is a fountain. Thewalls are of a yellowMsh-gray brick and jMilford granite. Thewall of the grand staircase projects into the court, and aroundthe other three walls runs a charming arcaded promenade, thearches, columns and cornice of white marble, over which is amarble parapet.
