From the Red Cross of Oregon, comes the following report,forwarded by Mrs, Levi Young. In transmitting the report says : While it may be longer than desired, still we feel thatthe eyes of our country have been more particularly turned towardCuba and the relief work done by the eastern branches, while thePacific Coast has been doing :: work second to none. Conditions heremake it difficult to raise the necessary funds, and every dollar expendedrepresents untiring devotion to the cause : The call to arms was still ringing through the land, when aband of patriotic women responding to an appeal for assistanceassembled at the armory in Portland, Oregon, on the morning of April26, to offer their services to the militarj board of the State in providingmaterial, aid and comfort for the Second Regiment Oregon Volunteers.
