Woman of Caux in white dress, tall bonnet with lace tails. All the elegant women of St. Clair are assembled for a harvest festival in an apple orchard. Hand-colored fashion plate illustration by Benoit Pecheux engraved by Gatine from Louis-Marie Lante's "Costumes des femmes du Pays de Caux," 1827/1885. With their tall Alsation lace hats, the women of Caux and Normandy were famous for the elegance and style.
