More than 1000 members of Scotland's Sikh community met in Glasgow to celebrate the historical and religious festival of VAISAKHI by parading from the GURU NANAK temple in Otago Street to the Central Gurdwara in Berkeley Street. At Berkeley Street after prayers and blessings the parade, thronged to more than 2000 and to the background music of bagpipes played by local children continued on to Pollokshields district for a street fair and further celebrations.
