We therefore hope that the following suggestions or rules, drawn to meet the requirements of small suburban grounds, will be of some use, and serve as a starting-point for that higher culture which educates the intuitive perceptions of the artist to dispense with rules, or rather, perhaps, to work intuitively by rule, as an aesthetic instinct.
