I don't think that finer roses were ever seen on the Baltimore market; carnations could not have been better; sweet peas were fine; violets, whicli were depended on from out of town, were slow in arriving. No one seemed to know whether they would come at all, although the orders had been placed early on condition tliat they be good stock.
