British Goods in US Marshalling Yards- Anglo-american Co-operation in Wartime Britain, 1943 Two men at work in the sunshine on top of a large stack of stoves at an American marshalling yard, somewhere in Britain. These stoves have been made by a Scottish firm and are used for boiling water and warming mess halls. According to the original caption, the stoves are 'designed to burn both wood and coal, [are] easily transportable, [and]...are especially handy for troops who have to move about quickly and take their equipment with them'.
