Eton, Windsor, Berkshire, UK. 18th January, 2022. Courting swans. Swan charity Swan Support were feeding swans in Eton on the River Thames this morning with corn. DEFRA Avian Influenza Control Zone notices are now in place by the River Thames in Windsor and Eton telling people not to feed the swans and wild birds. Instead Swan Support are feeding the swans and birds twice a day in a controlled manner so as to try to stop the spread of the deadly disease. So far seven swans have tragically died of bird flu and 26 were put to sleep by charity Swan Lifeline at Cuckoo Weir in Eton. Credit: Maureen
