Sport/sports: Archery, cycling, and wheelchair basketball What does the Warrior Games mean to you personally? It saved my life. I could write a book on my three years with the Warrior Games. I was in and out of hospitals for three years and was told I’d never run again and probably not even walk properly again. Being a former tri-athlete, I didn’t want to live life that way. Cami Stock (assistant Air Force coach) and others figured out a way I could use swimming as my therapy. I competed in the first Warrior Games as a swimmer and won a bronze medal in basketball and was captain of our team last year. What motivated you to try out for the Air Force Wounded Warrior Games Team? I’ve been able to reconnect again in athletics. I’d forgotten what it was like to wear a jersey on Saturdays.
