Colourfully designed houses in the southern section of Otto-Richter-Strasse in Magdeburg, c. 1922

The cooperative housing estate in Otto-Richter-Strasse in Magdeburg was built from 1904 to 1916 according to the principles of Neues Bauen. In 1921, the architect Bruno Taut was appointed city planning director of Magdeburg. He immediately set about implementing his concept of the colourful city - colour is joy of living. The street was coloured designed by Carl Krayl in 1922/1923. At the beginning of the 2000s, the colourful cades were restored true to the original
