Beatus world map, (Double opening) The Beatus world map, with Adam, Eve and the Serpent in the Garden of Eden at the top. The Mediterranean is represented as a blue line in the centre, the River Nile as its continuation bending to the right, and the Red Sea as a vertical red line.
