Brighton, Michigan - A sign at Island Lake State Recreation Area warns anglers not to eat fish from the Huron River. High levels of PFAS chemicals have been found in the water. PFAS is a family of chemicals widely used in firefighting foam, waterproofing for clothing, and many other products. Exposure has been linked to a variety of serious diseases.
