The new church building, replacement for a derelict and recently demolished one is located in the centre of a village close to Leiria, Central Portugal and pays tribute to the growing community of believers in this area. The idea was to create a space of silence: a world full of noise, in which the church admits a pause, a moment of peace and reflection. The assembly takes place in an amphitheater around the presbytery. The choice of wood for front wall, altarpiece, floor covering and seating was maple, which creates a welcoming and warm colour temperature.
