Over 100,000 steelhead trout fingerlings were liberated in a Santa Cruz County stream from the Brookdale Hatchery in short distance and used by the assistant as living quarters until more commodious quarters can be furnished the help. Work on Big Creek Hatchery has been delayed, owing to the stormy weather and a misunderstanding regarding the material to be used for the hatchery troughs. We are planning to place the first eggs collected at Scott Creek in the Brookdale Hatchery and when eyed ship them out to oilier slat ions, so as to have the last of the eggs collected eyed at Brookdale and sent to Big Creek when the hatcherj is completed. The work of construction on the Yo- semite Hatchery is nearly completed. The troughs were installed during the month and the painting and finishing up of the interior is well underway. The settling tank is completed and connections to the main building will soon be made.
