Harland and Wolff shipbuilding crane (Sampson) tower over East Belfast


The Harland & Wolff crane "Samspon" seen towering over terraced street Fraser Pass in the Newtownards Rd. area of East Belfast. Completed in 1974 the crane is 106m (348ft) and span of 140m (460ft) H&W own the worlds largest dry dock and constructed ships for the White Star Line, Titanic was the best known of these.
