Dwarf palmetto (Cabal minor) leaves. This fan palm is a native of the south-eastern United States. It has costapalmate leaves, halfway between pinnate leaves (small leaflets protruding from a central stalk) and fan-shaped leaves. It usually appears to be trunkless, as it has a subterranean trunk which grows downwards into the soil.
