Cattleya labiata is much lower in price. Other orchid blooms are abundant. Valley sold well last week. Gardenias are only coming in small lots. Aspara- gus and adiantum are each selling rather better. Colored-leaved plants, Lorraine begonias, cyclamens, nephro- lepis and palms are all selling quite well. Various Notes. Wax Bros, have enlarged their of- fice and employed an additional book- keeper to care for their increasing trade. They had two large weddings in Maine, at Calais and Bangor. Octo- ber 13, and the Proctor wedding at Gloucester on the same day. October 25 they have an extensive decoration at Brookline. W. J. Patterson, of Wollaston, con- tinues to bring in fifty dozen fine dah- lias daily in spite of the heavy snow- storm we had October 16, when the temperature fell to 31 degrees for sev- eral hours. E. K. Mundy, of Reading, who spe- cializes in Cosmos Lady Lenox, is the largest shipper of this popular va- riety to the wholesale market again this season. Welch Bros. Co. reports business as opening up remarkably well.
