Arthur Thistlewood (1770-1820). English conspirator. Portrait. Instigator of the Cato Street Conspiracy, a plot to assassinate Viscount Castlereagh and other ministers. The conspirators were captured and arrested. Arthur Thistlewood and four others were convicted of high treason and hanged. They were also decapitated.
