The supply of miscellaneous flowers was more than bountiful and much good stock went to waste. Tulips were less plentiful and the stock generally showed deterioration. Paper Whites were about through. Callas were in heavy supply. Other flowers available were pansies, calendulas, stocks, irises, mignonettes, snapdragons, daisies, myo- sotis, lupines, lilacs, wallflowers, del- phiniums and violets. Various Notes. The Allied Florists' Trade Associa- tion used the newspapers, Friday, April 8, for another advertisement, which featured particularly roses and sweet peas. As j'ct, the association has failed to receive the support of the retail florists, but this does not prevent the carrying out of its advertising plans. More than one retailer gives as a reason for this non-support, an opinion that, were the advertising suc- cessful in increasing the demand for flowers, the wholesalers would take ad- vantage of the fact to boost the jirices. Such argument is like that of the farmer who would not plant his corn, fearing the crows would dig up and consume his seed, and as an alternative, he starved to death. C. 11.
