London, UK. 7th April, 2013. The Sunday Assembly, a monthly "church service" for atheists, took place in Islington, North London this morning. The Nave, as the venue is now known, was full to capacity as co-founder Sanderson Jones led the congregation in thoughts, songs, readings - and plenty of humour as he is a former stand-up comedian. The gathering has already spawned similar assemblies in other parts of the UK and is now spreading worldwide with interest as far afield as the USA and Australia.
