Truman Capote (1924–1984) was an American writer known for his distinctive prose and pioneering true-crime novel In Cold Blood (1966). He gained early fame with Breakfast at Tiffany's (1958) and was celebrated for his vivid characterizations, sharp dialogue, and exploration of societal issues and personal isolation.
