The robin's wings flapping. Lancashire, UK: FAST ACTION images have been captured of robins, starlings and long-tailed-tits on a farm in Lancashire, image showed an 11-inch robin with its beautiful and unmistakable red breast in motion. Another image showed the extent of the rightfully named long-tailed tit as it showcased its three-inch-long tail taking up more than half of the bird?s total length. Photographer Martin Goff (47) from Rossendale, Lancashire, England captured these stunning photographs of robins, starlings and long-tailed-tits in flight on a farm in Lancashire using an Olympus E-M5iii and 100-400mm lens. Martin was watching the birds from a hide on the farm from early in the morning so as not to disturb the birds and capture images of them in their natural habitat. Martin was around 13-feet from the flighty birds and used flash combined with natural light in order to get the ghostly and distinct imagery of the birds. Although robins are a beloved bird in the UK due to their Christmas spirit ties and beautiful singing voices, they are actually extremely territorial and are quick to drive away predators, so Martin was ecstatic to capture them in such close proximity. In contrast to robins, starlings are much more social and come usually in flocks where food is plentiful. Although they are small birds, at only around two-ounces in weight, they are confident and direct when flying and searching for their next meal. Like the starlings, long-tailed tits are small in stature and travel in flocks of around 20 and are confident and noisy alongside the starlings. Although these are all quite common birds to find in the UK, Martin was able to capture incredible flashing images of the birds in their natural environment, undisturbed by humans. ?I was photographing a variety of garden birds coming to the bird feeders,? he said. ?Using flash combined with natural light shows a sharp image of the bird along with some blur showing a ghostly image of its beating
