Manyscreen fans will remember hersecond release, in which sheappeared as a Scotch lassie in Where the Heather a year she has been fea-tured in leading parts in oneand two reel subjects. In-cluded in the list of her re-leases are Love and a Sav-age, Those Primitive Days,and a number of others, allof which were made under thedirection of Horace Davey. Miss Compson is a prettyblonde with blue eyes, fivefeet two inches in height, andhas a very attractive Horace Davey, for seven years the right hand manof Al. E. Christie, is now and has been for the pastyear a director of comedies, and so well has he learnedMr. Christies style of production that it is almost im-possible for one to tell from the finished subjectwhether Christie or Davey directed it. Mr. Davey is anative of Bayonne, New Jersey. Al. Christie inducedhim to leave a printing office where he had served anapprenticeship. That was seven years ago, and to thisday his employer has never regretted it. For about sixyears Mr. Davey was assistant director to Mr. Christie,beginning work at the Bayonne studio where the firstNestor brand was made. Mr. Davey came to the west coast with the originalNestor Company, but it was not until about a year agothat he directed his first picture. When the ChristieFilm Company was organized in January, Mr. Daveyleft the Universal to become a director for this com-pany, and since that time he
