The Mall, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, UK. 19th May 2020. The vast carparks area surrounding The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, remain closed off and empty today as one of the owners of the shopping centre has warned over its debts as non-essential retailers remain shut in line with Government Covid-19 guidelines. Property giant Intu, which co-owns the Cribbs Causeway centre with M&G Real Estate and JT Baylis, has recently stated that it could breach its debt covenants by the end of June unless lenders are forthcoming which will allow it to survive the Coronavirus pandemic. According to reports Intu has been attempting to pay down debts of almost £ via offloading assets and recently sold one of its shopping centres in Spain.
