A German sword,the blade late 16th century. Broad double-edged blade with a blunt point. Short fullers and groups of recesses on either face of the blade,etched with antique and biblical scenes as well as floral decorations. Chiselled quillons,wooden grip fitted with engraved decorative copper rivets(later). Length 75 cm. Rare,exceptional blade. Cf.
