Stormy weather at Brentor church in Devon county England UK


Rising to a height of 1100 feet 335 meters Brentor with it s church called St Michaels is a prominent landmark over west Devon It was originally built in about 1130 by Robert Giffard who was the Lord of the manor of Lamerton and Whitchurch The tower was added in the 1400s Brentor comprises the remains of a mass of lava and over 300 million years ago the area was covered by a shallow sea This photograph was taken facing South on 5th April 2005
