Warts treated with cimetidine

Foot of a 13 year old Hispanic male patient after treatment with cimetidine for multiple warts. Warts are caused by infection with a human papilloma virus (HPV). It leads to mass production of skin in a localised area, producing the characteristic appearance of a wart. Cimetidine is a drug that stimulates the immune system, helping it to clear the infection.
