Frank Hall Rosboro, late register andrecorder of Fayette county, was born inNicholson township, April 26, 1861. He isa son of Rev. Hugh O. and Mary (Jones) Ros-boro, the former a native of Washington,Pa., born in 1826, the latter of Fairmont, , born in 1835, and both of Scotch-Irishdescent. The father of Rev. Hugh O. Ros-boro was John Rosboro, who came fromCounty Tyrone, Ireland, A. D. 1800, andafter a brief period spent in New York, set-tled in Washington county, Pa., on land thatis now a part of the site of the town ofWashington, and most of which is still inpossession of the Rosboros. The father ofMrs. Mary (Jones) Rosboro was John Jones,a Marion county (Ya.) planter, who freed hisslaves before the war of the Rebellion. Healso operated a woolen mill. Rev.
