View N of the remains of a Bronze Age burial cist & capstone inside a circular cairn retained by a kerb of boulders, on Learable Hill, Sutherland, Scotland, UK. When the cist was excavated in 1886 a cremation, jet beads, an inverted cinerary urn & a bronze razor were found. The cairn lies in an area of prehistoric remains including a standing stone, stone rows, stone circles, hut circles, clearance cairns & field systems. The standing stone to the E is high & has been Christianized with an incised Latin cross. Some of the stone rows are visible in the heather to the rear of this photo.
