Black Locust tree, among the oldest trees at Kew Gardens, London

The American Black Locust, also known as the false acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia) was one of the first five trees planted in Kew Gardens in London by Princess August, the Princess of Wales, in 1760. It is one of a group of ancient trees in the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew that are, collectively, known as The Old Lions.
