The Oriental Market, adjacent to one of the shopping streets of Genoa (one of the entrances gives in fact on the central XX September Street), called "Oriental" because it was located near the eastern gate of the city of Genoa, was inaugurated in 1899 and went to occupy a space that according to the initial project of 1699 was destined to the cloister of the convent of Our Lady of Consolation.
