Modern Installation of Engine Pits and Drop Pits The turntable serves 16 tracks, of which 14 are providedwith concrete engine pits, 80 ft. long. The angle betweentrack centers is 14 deg. 12 min., except where the roof col-umns are located around the turntable. At such points theangle has been increased to 9 deg. 30 min. from the linepassing through the column and the turntable center, or atotal of 19 deg. between adjoining track centers. The dis-.
