Beehive star cluster. The Beehive, Praesepe or Crib star cluster (M44, NGC 2632) is the loose collection of bright stars at centre. Located in the constellation of Cancer, the Beehive contains about 300 stars and is just visible to the naked eye as a fuzzy spot. It lies about 520 light years from Earth and is about 650 million years old.
