Greifenstein Castle is a group of castles consisting of the castles Obergreifenstein and Untergreifenstein. You are on a rock above the Holzelfinger valley. The Lords of Greifenstein were a noble family. They owned the castles Greifenstein, Burgstein and Hochbideck. In their coat of arms they had a griffin standing on a mountain of three.
