Water freely when trans- planting, setting the plant deep, and protect from the sun for a few days until the plants are fairly started. A few plants may be raised by sowing seed in a pot or a box In the house. The plants are strong and vigorous, bearing an abundance of large, smooth fruit of a beautiful purplish crimson color. The flesh Is remarkably thick, firm and solid, and of very fine quality with very few seeds. It is an excel- lent shipper. Does not crack or rot, as is the case with many of the old sorts.
